Idea: Building Atlantis

There are approximately 7 Billion people on Earth today and usable land is dwindling rapidly. We are constantly destroying mountains and forests to acquire new land for society and it is only a matter of time until we destroy planet Earth beyond it's or our ability to repair the damage. Add to that the exorbitant amount of pollution and toxic waste we produce each year and it will not be long before our Planet is in dire conditions. With over 70% of our planet being Oceans that are relatively unstudied and unpopulated I have for years contemplated how we could utilize the Oceans for our homes and save/reforest our planet.

There are several key things to consider when contemplating building a City/State on the Ocean. It needs to be able to withstand even the most severe Tropical Weather and Hurricanes. It needs to be Green with little to no waste or pollution. It needs to be completely self sufficient. It needs to be movable in case of Sub-Oceanic earthquakes or volcanic eruptions. It needs to be able to create sufficient fresh water for all its occupants, live stock, plants, etc. Lastly, it needs to be modular so it can be built in stages and expanded as needed.

With that said I have a rudimentary design in my head that would consist of a fleet of ships approximately 200' long and 100' wide and 100' tall (50' below sea level and 50' above sea level). These could be built at most larger ship yards and would all be identical with numerous locking mechanisms around the outside of the ship. Each ship would be equipped with Electrical, Sewer, Garbage, Communications and Transportation systems built in. Each ship would have it's own fuel storage and propulsion systems as well and each ship would be equipped with underwater Hydro Turbines capable of generating power from ocean currents flowing beneath the assembled City/State. Once a hundred or so of these are built they are all taken out to deep water, locked together to form a platform for the new City/State to be built upon. Once locked together they are air/water tight.

They can be locked together to form a massive City Center to build skyscrapers on, with arms that radiate out from the center that will eventually contain: Airports, Recycling Facilities, Manufacturing Facilities, Scientific and Medical Research Facilities, Marinas, Space Ports and so much more. Because each ship is equipped with Transportation systems (Subways) everything is with easy reach of the city center.

Upon the City Center you build 100' tall (15 Story) buildings that go all the way around the outside edge of the city center. These buildings differ from conventional buildings as the are not completely vertical but slowly arch towards the center of City Center as they rise into the sky. Think of it as if each new floor of the building is offset a few feet from the floor below it. Once the buildings are all complete, each offset section is transformed into Green-space for gardening and then all the offsets are covered in a super strong translucent material like Lucite to protect the Green-space from Salt Water Contamination. This forms a Wind/Water tight dome over the City Center that can withstand Category 5 Hurricanes and makes use of every bit of available outside space for Growing Plants, Vegetables, Trees, etc. At the very top of the City Center, where the buildings do not quite meet is a Translucent Dome a couple hundred feet wide that seals the dome but lets plenty of sunlight and starlight into the City Center. Around the outside of City Center (where each arm stretches out) are giant Hurricane Proof Sliding Doors that can be opened/closed depending on Weather Conditions. This allows people to walk freely inside and outside of the City Center in good weather conditions.

Inside the City Center (under the dome) is a huge park and community garden where enough food is grown to sustain the entirety of the population of that City Center. Just underneath that (inside the ships that form the City Center) is the livestock area where Chickens, Goats, Lamb and other small animals are raised to provide meat for the city. Fishing will also be a large part of the City/State and can be done from numerous areas on the arms of the city or from boats docked in the marina.

As the population of the City Center starts reaching maximum sustainability additional City Centers can be built and attached to various arms radiating from of the initial City Center. Each new City Center will then in turn have its own arms radiating from it. Arms can be added to each City Center as needed based on what is needed, be it Manufacturing, Recycling, Waste Water Processing, etc.

Additionally, Wind Turbines similar to what I described here can be installed throughout each arm that are retractable (withdrawn into the ship and covered) in severe weather. Between the Wind Turbines and Hydro Turbines enough electricity can be produced to sustain the City/State. Additionally, all connected ships making up the City/State can have their there propulsion systems controlled from a central point so if the city needs to move it can be done easily.

As more and more people leave their land based existences to move to the new City/State teams can be sent out to expunge mankind's impact on the land and begin restoring the land to its pristine glory before humanity jacked it up. Each City/Center will have it's own local Democratically Elected Government, it's own Police/Fire/Health/Education Departments and make and enforce its own laws. Once multiple City Centers are built and Occupied a National Government will be elected to Unite and Govern over the various City Centers. Basically each City Center will become it's own Country answerable only to an oversight board I would call The New United Nations.

Additionally, all basic necessities of life, like Housing, Water, Electricity, Health Care, Education and even Food would be FREE to ALL CITIZENS of all City Centers in Atlantis. Everyone who wants to work can do so and the money they earn can be used for Clothing, Furniture, Entertainment, etc. Families that work hard and save their money can UPGRADE to larger, more lavish residences as new City Centers are built.

There will be no Currency (paper or metal) like traditional Countries but all City Center's will use and accept a new Crypto Currency similar to Bitcoin. Citizens who attend and graduate from one of the many Higher Learning Centers in Atlantis will be eligible for FREE BUSINESS LOCATIONS if they want to: start their own business, research new advances in Science, Health, etc., invent new products, theories or techniques and so on.

The more of the ocean surface that is covered by new City/State members of Atlantis the less frequent severe Tropical Storms and Hurricanes will become as they will occupy and disrupt the areas the weather forms in. There is a theoretical limit to how big each City/State member can reach before completely new (disconnected) City/States will have to be built. I am guessing that each City/State member could be 10 miles in Diameter with 20-30 City Centers housing 500,000 to 1 million people in each City/State.

As additional City/States are built routine Nautical and Air routes will be established to keep them all connected for travel, trade, tourism, etc. Wireless and Satellite based connections will be established between each City/State to keep them connected (Internet 2.0). Each City/State would have it's own Coast Guard, and Civil Defense Forces (Army and Airforce) to protect and serve the citizens of that City/State and they would be governed by The New United Nations.

Leaders of Each City Center and City/State would be elected every four years with a maximum of 20 years (5 terms) in Office. Leaders of The New United Nations would be elected from ALL CITY/STATES every 5 years with a maximum of 20 years (4 terms) in office. The Leaders of The New United Nations would have to have prior experience in Law Enforcement, Coast Guard or Civil Defense to be Eligible for Office and have been a resident of Atlantis for at least 10 years (to take effect 10 years after first residents occupy first City Center); whereas leaders of City Center's and City/States can be anyone who has been a resident of that City Center or City/State for at least 5 years (to take effect once the City Center or City/State has been occupied for at least 5 years).

Predictions: World War Three Breaks out in next 5 years

For the last 5 years or so both Russia and China have been building up their militaries with a vengeance. In fact China now has the second largest military on Earth next to only the United States with the Russian Military a close third. Add to this the fact that for the last few months Russia has been routinely trying to fly their spy planes into American Airspace and China has been on a Secrets Stealing Rampage hacking every US Military Database they can find and it is not hard to fathom that:

When World War Three breaks out it will be Russia and China against the World. I believe that Simultaneously Russia will invade West into the Slovak and Baltic Countries while China invades East into the United States and Canada. I believe the have developed advanced weaponry capable of neutralizing our infrastructure and communications as well as most of our aircraft, ships and other weapons rendering us virtually helpless.

I believe that after the Western Coast of North America is taken by the Chinese that the relationship between Russia and China will start to crumble and eventually the United States, Canada and China will join forces and destroy Russia. This probably won't happen until after the USA people revolt and over throw the government and elect new leadership. But almost immediately afterwards China and the United States will sign a pact and kick some Russian Ass. Following the end of WWIII Canada and Mexico will join the United States of American which will subsequently be renamed The American Federation. Within 10 years The American Federation will become the Super Power in both Military and Political Might that this world needs to Unite the Planet under One Government, thereby ending all future wars before they ever start.

Desire: For Humanity to Grow the Fuck Up and Quit Taking the Easy Way Out

I understand that Depression is a wide spread problem, believe me I understand. I, myself, am a non-medicated Major Manic Depressive. I have struggled with depression my entire life and am not adverse to having thoughts that I dare not share......but I always SUCK IT UP and move forward.

Maybe I am insensitive, but I can not for the life of me understand how anyone could actually kill themselves. How can you allow yourself to loose control so badly that killing yourself is the only option you can take. There are way too many resources available to ever let things get that bad. Hell, do what I do and just go up to a Random Stranger and vent when you need to talk. Even if they don't respond, just saying how you feel will help.

What bothers me even more is when celebrities and filthy rich people like Robin Williams commit suicide. They have far better lives than 99.99% of people on this planet who never even consider killing themselves. Not to mention they always have tons of people around (in their lives) to talk to and near unlimited financial ability to get the help and treatment they need. Upon hearing that Robin Williams hung himself today I steam rolled right over sorrow and dove head first into ANGER. Anger that such a Gifted, Loved, Hilarious and Rich person could be so chicken shit as to take their own life.

So from the bottom of my heart I beg ANYONE CONSIDERING SUICIDE please please please get some help.

Desire: An End to Humanities Negative Aspects

I think way too much about War, Famine, Disease, Poverty, Homelessness, Undernourishment, etc. Regardless of how many times I think about it and regardless of how many different scenarios I run through my mind trying to find a solution I always come to the same conclusion: Humanity is filled with Greedy, Self-Absorbed, Inconsiderate Assholes....and by filled I mean Virtually Ever Human Alive with the Ability to Do Something about these problems fits that bill. There are a few exceptions like Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet who have pledged billions of dollars towards many of these problems but they can only do so much.

I believe that it is the responsibility of every human being on Earth, especially those with incomes in excess of $100,000 per year, to devote resources to making this planet a happier, healthier place for everyone who lives on it. I believe that Housing, Electricity, Clean and Safe Water, Abundant Healthy Food, Medical/Dental/Vision Care and Education (Primary and Secondary) should no longer be thought of as a luxury but should be an Inalienable Right. By that I mean that EVERY MAN, WOMAN, TRANSGENDERED PERSON and CHILD on Earth should have those things and they should be free to everyone.

Imagine a World where everyone has a place to live, plenty of food on the table, a good education and reliable health coverage with no worries about if they can afford it. Yes on the surface the business' of the world would loose Trillions of dollars at the onset of such a program; however, you now have almost 1 billion more people that will get educated, be healthy and enter the workforce over the next few years. Within 5 years of instituting changes like this all loses would be recouped several fold and profits would continue to rise year over year as more and more people are now able to work and contribute to the global economy. It wouldn't even have to be implemented world wide initially, it would only take one RESPONSIBLE WORLD GOVERNMENT like the United States of America to institute these changes with a Constitutional Amendment and a couple years for the world to take notice before other countries followed suit and began instituting these changes as well.

Something as simple as providing the basic necessities for EVERYONE to have a happy and healthy life would end all wars within a short matter of time. It would bring about the end of poverty, homelessness, and starvation virtually instantly. It would transform our planet into a world where people care about each other again, where you can feel free and safe to go to your neighbors any time and ask for help and know they will help you. It will bring about a better way of life, a cleaner planet and a united planet that can now focus and work together GLOBALLY.

Predictions: An Injection that can Convert Normal Blood Cells into Stem Cells

There have been some amazing and quiet remarkable advances in Stem Cell Research in the last few years and it is my firm belief that in the next 10 years someone will figure out a formula that can be infected to living human beings that will:

• Convert a portion of the persons normal blood cells into stem cells
• Program those stem cells to: A.) Preform repairs on damage cells, tissue, ligaments, bones, etc., B.) Bolster the bodies natural immune system by supercharging the bodies White Blood Cells so they can defend against biological and viral contaminants, C.) cure the person of currently incurable diseases like cancer, aids (HIV), Polio, Tuberculosis, VD, Ebola, etc.
• Stop or even reverse aging while maintaining a completely healthy and disease free body.

Desire: AutoCad Inventor Genius' Assistance

While I am a geek and have tons of ideas in my head I lack the ability to afford AutoCad Inventor or similar programs as well as the skill to bring my ideas to life. I would love to find someone with the experience and software to help me visualize and test my ideas and hopefully market them. I would prefer someone from the Atlanta, GA area but if you are "that damn good" and willing to work "on a promise of potential fame and fortune" then please shoot me an email with some samples of your work.

Idea: Internal Blade Multi-Turbine Wind and Solar Electric Towers

I have seen many thousands of Wind Turbines popping up around the world the last few years and they all have several serious design flaws. They are a danger to birds, they can only operate (typically) in winds between 5 and 25 mph, the consume an abysmal amount of land and they only work when the wind is blowing at the correct speeds. I have an idea how to make a much better use of that land and produce literally 1,000 times more power per acre than is produced by conventional turbines.

If we adapt the same internal blade wind turbine technology I want to see used in the electric vehicles and scale it up it could withstand winds of 100 mph or greater. Now if we redesign the entire turbine from the ground up like this:

• First we need a large 25' diameter X 10' tall powered base. By powered I mean it is a massive gear driven locking mechanism for the various sections of tower that will sit on top of it. This is so that a computer that controls the tower which will be located in this base can rotate the entire tower to maximize power production by always keeping the turbines facing the wind.
• On top of this locking and rotating base will sit 2 or more 25' tall sections that contain a massive 20' diameter internal blade Wind Turbine. These turbines unlike the ones in the electric vehicles will have twin sets of internal blades and dual turbines (one set on each side of the turbine) so that they produce power from the wind entering and exiting the section. On both sides of the turbine there will be an industrial grade screen (similar to what you find on screen doors/windows but much stronger to prevent any animals or air born debris from entering the turbines. Considering the average wind turbine in use today is 100'+ tall you can easily fit 4 of these double turbines sections on each locking base and then put a cap on top which contains a Wind Gauge that relays data straight to the computer in the base. You now have a tower that is only 25' wide and approximately 115' tall but instead of using 3 acres of land it uses 50 sq. ft. of land. Meaning you can have 20 or more of these towers per acre. Then if you apply a thin film solar panel to the outside of the towers you create power even when the wind is not blowing.

All this adds up to a massive increase in power production per acre. The pieces are much smaller and easier to transport. They are safer to the environment. They can withstand hurricanes (by locking the blades) with little to no damage. They can even be modified to have fake branches added on and painted to look like trees so they blend in with the environment better than traditional turbines.
